Inside the Atelier of Clara Masiá

Barcelona-based artist Clara Masiá works at the intersection of ceramics, illustration, and design, creating sculptural vessels shaped by her lifelong fascination with the natural world. Trained in art and design at Escola Massana, she began exploring clay as an extension of her drawing practice, translating botanical observation into organic ceramic forms that feel alive and unfolding.

Her pieces are handmade using coarse clay bodies that incorporate sand and recycled brick, creating textured surfaces and earthy tones that echo the landscape itself. Guided by instinct and a close study of plant life, Masiá often shapes rims and silhouettes that resemble petals mid-bloom, capturing the fleeting moment when nature reaches its fullest expression. The result is a collection of ceramics that feel both sculptural and deeply connected to the rhythms of the natural world.
